Quilt Blocks for Sandy Victims

Calling all quilters to help make quilt blocks for the victims of Sandy!

So heart wrenching to see all the loss as a result of Sandy's wrath.  I have been feeling totally helpless and wanting to find someone that was coordinating making quilts for the victims.   Hurray!   I have found just that person!  Erin at Vesuvius Mama Blog.

Go visit her blog here

Tell her SewFunQuilts sent you.  Then get out your fabrics and make some Disappearing Four Patch blocks to send to her.   Even though she's not asking for money for the backing fabrics, batting or thread............you might want to send her $5, $10 or whatever you want to send to help with the cost for those supplies.  Or maybe you've got some yardage you no longer want that could be used for backings.

PLEASE........help spread the word about this group effort.......and GO make some blocks.

Thanks for visiting.

  4. Thank you, Judy and Marilyn. You have given me two outlets! I feel so fortunate that we only lost power for 25 hours, with no other damage from the storm, I wanted to find a way to help others. Making disappearing 4-patches as we speak to send to Erin, and will check out Binky Patrol for the children's quilts.

    1. Thanks, Becki and others.

Please keep sharing this blog post information to others.....everyday! We need lots of blocks for lots of quilts. There were over 1400 quilts sent to Japan for the Tsunami victims, so am sure we can do better for our own here in USA.

  5. I am working on some blocks. I plan to send her some thread and some fabric for backing. I just wish I lived close enough to help her put them together.

I live just below New Orleans, right in the middle of hurricane alley so I understand what they are going through.
