Ta Da! YaY...SIS BOOM BAH!

Love new projects and the getting all excited over the planning, selecting the colors, the pattern and starting the sewing.  The good intentions are always there, but life gets in the way sometimes.
It's been a while since I first started these blocks using some of my beautiful batiks....(No, I'm not telling you how long it's been!)

Finding new ways and ideas for using pre-cut strips and squares brings out my creative juices....

The first block.........

And a few more of them......

Finished Top

And hung on the hangar along with the other ones needing to be quilted.......

Now, I wonder how long before they're quilted??  Do you do this, or do you work on one project until it is  completed?

Oops! What budget?

Budget!  What budget?   (as she stares off into space......)   And where do I have room for more fabrics and stuff?

You know you just can't go on the Bluebonnet Trail Shop Hop   (you can read more about it) .....without blowing your monthly quilting budget.  Trust me, I know this is true!

And then she walks into the first shop....... "But, I get lots of Free fat quarters......'cause each shop gives me a Free Fat Quarter"...sure!  Those Fat Quarters probably ended up costing me about $10 each......lol

We didn't make it to all 13 shops this year, and probably just as well.  It probably would have cost me about $15 each!   I did get 7 pretty ones, though.

A quilter can never have too many gadgets!   I should have bought 2 more packs of those clips...what was I thinking?

Was thinking Spring and all the flowers......I guess.

A girl can't pass up some pretty batiks for $5.00 a yard, can she?  Again.......that staring off into space..."sure hope I can fit these in my fabric closet with all my other batiks".

Of course....these tightly packaged batik strips don't take up that much room, do they?

These charm packs were my first purchases and started the whole thing!  I'm sure I can find room for four more tiny packages in one of my plastic storage tubs.

It's their (the charm packs) fault (not mine) I bought all this yardage to go with the charm packs... I wonder if I'll be needing more fabric storage space?  There's always the closet in the bathroom.

Can't visit with ya'll anymore, I've got to GO cut and quilt!

Fun Shop Hopping!

Bluebonnets  and other wildflowers are very plentiful this year in South Texas.  There's no better way to enjoy them than fill the car with gas and go on the Bluebonnet Trail Shop Hop that happens every April.  So, that's just what my sister and I did.......for two days!

I forgot my camera the first day out.........yeah!, I know, dummy me.   I'll share a couple of my favorite shops we visited on the second day.

Here's Dixie inviting us inside to her Seventh Heaven Quilt Shop ....yes, she's always smiling!

Some of the things you'll see at her shop:

"Twister" quilt on the wall behing the cast iron bed when you first enter her shop.

A wall full of patterns so big, I couldn't get it all in my picture.

One of the many specialized theme rooms.

Always lots of free demos about the latest techniques and new gadgets.

Busy with lots of quilt shoppers!

The last shop we visited before we headed home was:

Fabric 'n Friends in Castroville, Texas

3600 Square feet of quilting delight!

By this time, we needed to replenish our energy so we headed for the yummy room first.  Their theme this year was Peace and Love!  Yummy cake!

This is just a sampling of the purples Jeanne carries in her shop, and that's not counting her batiks or color walls.

Do you prefer blues?

Even the Chickens and Roosters were shopping for Jelly Rolls!

One of the many family "helpers" cutting my fabrics!

What a great 2 days;  quilting eye candy, snacks, goodies, new gadgets, thousands of bolts of fabrics,  and lots of inspiration........just what the quilt doctor ordered!

Now, I'm off to my sewing room!

FREE Giveaway for Quilts of Valor Blog Hop

Today is the start of the Quilts of Valor Blog hop at Marjorie B's Blog right here.     If you are not familiar with the QOV now's the time to learn about it.  Several different bloggers are participating in this special blog hop and offering giveaways.  You can see the list here.

So, I added the QOV badges to my right hand side bar so you can GO and get the info to participate.  You don't have to make a complete quilt.....just one block if that's all you can do.  The main thing is to participate in whatever way you can.

Today I cut out a bunch of Red, White, Blue stars with my GO cutter and there's lots of them.  I'm GOing to list some these in my ETSY Shop for the QOV project....very nominal cost of $1.00 to just cover listing and mailing costs.

If you want to buy some of these stars to applique on your QOV quilt blocks or quilt top, you can get them here.

Better yet, how about 10 FREE ones??

Just leave a comment here on my blog post and tell me you are GOing to tell someone or share this post on fb, twitter, etc., about the  QOV Challenge, and I'll draw one lucky winner on Saturday, April 7th.

Thanks for visiting my blog and thanks to all of our past and present Armed Services Personnel for the USA!
