Just Doin' Stuff

What have I been doing here lately? 


Just stuff......stuff for Valentine's Day, stuff for selling in my ETSY shop, stuff for fun, and very busy with taking care of one of my cats.....Braveheart!   He's been to the vet 3 times the last couple weeks...jeez!   I made 5 lbs. of See's Fudge too....for Valentine's Day.

Well.....let's just talk with pictures.  I love to see pictures on blogs, don't you?

Another Valentine Table Runner for my shop, which sold within 1 day of listing it.  YAY!

Raggedy Ann & Andy Rag Quilt using GO cutter rag die.  (Sure is fun to use

that GO die, so I've got another one almost finished.)  You can't see it very well in the pictures, but I did stitch an X in  each square and put a smaller square of flannel in the middle of each block...for extra warmth and padding.

And........I'm always cutting, cutting, cutting quilt squares and jelly rolls......have to keep them in stock all the time.

Time for Red and Hearts!

When I take down my Christmas decorations and the house looks all blah and bare, out come the bright reds and lots of hearts!    Ahhhh!  looks better now.  

Every time  the Heart Welcome ribbon thingie is displayed, I always promise  myself to make different ones for the different holidays.  AND, you know how those kind of promises never get on the "to do" list???.....maybe this year. 

Do all quilters have one or two favorite quilts they've made??
 
This is one of mine.  I love Sunbonnet Sue, and the blocks are hand embroidered using redwork.  At the time  they were finished, Moda Fabrics  had these wonderful red prints that worked perfect with them.  I've still got a bit of these same fabrics in my stash.  MODA is my absolute favorite too.

My goodness...makes me want to do some more hand embroidery work...so relaxing and enjoyable.    Somewhere, there's a pair of unfinished embroidered pillow cases...mmmmmm??  Wonder where they are??  Do you embroider??


Sue's outline was quilted in the borders along with some loopy loops.

Here's a small heart wall hanging with embroidery design....tweets, I hang by the front door. If you have an embroidery machine, the  Embroidery Library has lots of these tweet designs for the different holidays.

What a Life!

What a life!..................just hanging around.

I like to change my quilts and home decor items for the different holidays, so I have my Valentine - Heart ones out right now.  

Roxie's (she's the cat that the Mama dropped at my feet when she was 4 days old, and I bottle fed her) place of honor is always on the back of my recliner chair, so I keep a small quilt there for her to claim as her own.  It has to be one that I can wash frequently.  

I'll share some better/prettier Valentine quilts than this one in the next couple days, so hope you come back again.

Sewing Expo Was Great!

The Sewing Expo yesterday was a lot of fun and it did just what it was supposed to do.....it got the creative juices going for me with great inspirational ideas for new quilts, scenes, purses, jackets, and lots of embroidery work! Can hardly wait to make this new cape jacket and new purse pattern I bought....yippee!! Cindy Losekamp is one of my FAVORITE designers and I bought her book Serenity Landscapes & CD and she was there to sign it for me. I have a few of her other books & CD designs and have had such fun with them. She is one creative lady, for sure!





Came home & worked on the Angel BOM quilt and did some machine applique stitches on it. Have more work to do on it. Then I embroidered two dish towels for my niece's birthday on Sunday.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my Blog!

This is my first post and I would like to invite you to come on in, pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee, and visit for a while.

It might take me a while to get the hang of this, but am determined to do it, so that's half the battle.

Lots of fun quilting/sewing projects going on right now and am starting 2009 out with finishing up some UFO'S and experimenting with others, working on my Ebay store listings, & making lists of everything I want to accomplish. I only hope that I can cross lots of things off that list as the days fly by.

So far for the year, I have completed one Star BOM, worked on the Angel BOM, completed an Easter wallhanging leftover from last year, made a new patchwork tote & my sister promptly claimed it, embroidered out more lacey snowflakes for an Ebay store order, and embroidered out 6 huge designs for Valentine throw pillows with 5 of them finished.

In the next couple days, I will be cutting out many fleece sock/slippers for all my family living in cold snowy Indiana and sewing them totally with the serger. Are any of you familiar with the fleece socks/slippers I am talking about??
