More FUN To Share!

Are you always in a time crunch and wish  a magic genie would help you out so you had more time to sew?   "Well, my friend.....(yes...I know that sounds like a used car salesman...but I'm really not!)  that's why my Etsy shop is known for its Time Saver Kits".

To me, there's nothing more FUN  than cutting & sewing.   "Yup!  Right On!"  (as she hold up her hand &  tries to get the Cat Supervisors to high five with her and they just look away.)

Check out this easy way to do some FUN sewing with pre-cut quilt squares from...............(yes......that's why my shop is called
SEW FUN QUILTS.)

Make a quilt sandwich.....("hold the mayo, add some lettuce") ....sew the squares on it and do some fancy stuff in between the rows.

Add the binding......... (would you like fries with that?)

Ta .......Da........(your order's ready.)

After it's washed, it gets that soft, cuddly  wrinkled look.  Now GO take a nap with your new quilt.   (After you leave me a nice comment....ok?)

FUN! FUN! FUN!   That's what sewing and quilting should be about.

Small Quilting Means BIG FUN!

Bet you think this is GOing to be a post about Free Motion Quilting really small like tiny stitch stippling, huh?

Bzzzzzzzzzz!  Wrong Answer!    (that's supposed to sound like the buzzer from the old tv show Family Feud)

What?  You don't know about that TV Show??   Well, then, just read on.......

I love to play with the small 2 1/2" squares of 30's Reproduction Prints, and I keep a bin of them cut with my AccuQuilt GO cutter ready to sew.

Then when I get a few minutes,  I sew them into rows.

"Awww....lookin' good.....this is a good assorted layout of colors & different prints."   (as she tells her Cat Quilting Supervisors).   Now,  I'll  have to sew the rows together, matching all those seams......."no, don't grab those pins".

My bin of the floral 2 1/2" squares are fun to play with too. I  ended up with 3 different pieced small  quilts.

It's kinda like eating Lays Potato Chips......you can't eat make just one.

and as she keeps sewing, she says....... "yes, you can sniff them & inspect the sewing, but they are NOT new quilts for your cat beds." One of them always talks back a bit...'meow...meow'.....'cause they are a bit sassy too.

You can always end up making  something fun from 2 1/2" squares cut with an  AccuQuilt GO cutter.

Here's my latest finishes for a custom order from my Etsy Shop.
My buyer asked for  a specific size (which is a little smaller than I usually make) and  matching square pillows.

as she was saying...........("You Quilt Supervisors get outta here and go eat some catnip 'cause you  can't inspect these.")  ....where was I?

Oh Yeah!  Now I remember.

AND.......just in case you're wondering.............   Yes, you can buy sets of these 2 1/2" squares in my Etsy shop.

Which one do you like the best......green or red?

Planning Ahead or Not?

I love to plan my quilting projects ahead of time.

We aren't GOing to talk about how cold it is today all over the USA (even though I've had to GO outside two times already to change the outside feral cats water bucket from ice to water).   We are expecting a high of 32 today and the wind is blowing.....so feels like 10.  Yikes!  That's really cold for South Texas. Our local weatherman said we can expect some snow late Thursday.  Whoa!  Nellie!  Wait a minute.  Snow in San Antonio, Tx?  That's what they are saying, so I might be talking about snow in a couple more days, instead of using my GO cutter.

Now, where was I?  Ok...yes, now I remember......we are talking about planning ahead.

Have I told you  I love my GO cutter??  If you don't know the answer to that question then you haven't been reading my blog for the last 6 months, have you?  Nothing's more fun than cutting with it, (well maybe eating some chocolate) so that's what I did yesterday.  (I cut... and ate some chocolate.)

Don't you just love the combo of chocolate brown & bright pinks?  mmmmh! looks like Valentine Candy.

Thanks to the 2 1/2" strip die, I can cut many, many small squares too!

Yup!  I'm gonna need a bunch of these.

The ideas are just dancing around in my head  how I'm GOing to be using these small squares, and I'm planning ahead for when I get some extra sewing time.

Drats!  I promised myself I'd finish a UFO every month and February is here.  Ok, I'll put the "chocolate & pink" squares away for now.

Am I really planning ahead or did I just want to use my GO??   I'll never tell.

Am I a stripper? Nope, I'M A CUTTING MANIAC!

I hope  my title of this post got your attention!

Yesterday was our quilt bee, so I just had to take my GO cutter from AccuQuilt to show all the gals (and took just a few of my fabrics) so everyone could play with it!

First of all, we cut one of the girls' Jelly Rolls into 320  2 1/2"  squares.  She wants to make a quilt like my SEA BREEZES http://bit.ly/c5pLKv quilt that uses 2 1/2" squares.  We had those 320 squares cut in no time by laying the jelly roll strips perpindicular folded back & forth on the 2 1/2" strip die....turn...turn...turn..the handle.  Voila!  Done!

I'm so glad I took all those fabrics...(tee hee... & let the girls "practice" )...and magically they are now 2 1/2"  strips!  The other little pile on the RH side is my group (so far) of some scraps cut into HST (half square triangles) and 2 1/2" squares.

I LOVE MY GO cutter from AccuQuilt!

If you would like to try to win a GO, just click on the title of this blog to go to AccuQuilt's facebook page.  Become a fan of AccuQuilt on facebook and make sure you check their posts on Fun Fridays for a chance to win a GO cutter.  Also, sign up for their email newsletter to win a $250 gift certificate during July.

Now, don't you agree???  I'm a great stripper!! (strip cutter, that is.)
