Great Fun to meet Barb from Bejeweled Quilts Blog

You meet the nicest people when blogging!    My sister and I had a great opportunity to meet Barbara from Pago-Pago American Samoa this week 'cause she was in San Antonio for a few days.  We met at the Red Robin near Six Flags Fiesta Texas and had such a wonderful time.   She is such fun and pretty too!   She brought us the cutest little bags she made with beautiful tropical fabrics tucked inside.   Thanks, Barb.  Her blog is http://bejeweledquiltsbybarb.blogspot.com/   and if you don't follow her, you are really missing out.

We thought it would be fun to take her fabric shopping, so off we went to Jo-Ann's Super Center to spend some money.

All the pretty silk flowers made a great background for picture taking.  Barb's on the left and my sister, Jerre, on the right.

What a wonderful time we had!  And all thanks to blogging!

SEWING TWEET Wall Hanging

I love these "Tweet" designs that I am buying from Embroidery Library every week. They are now selling a different theme "Tweet" every week; sports, gardening, lifting weights, the beach....etc. Naturally this sewing one is my favorite and I have made a few of them. Can you see the top bird with the thimble for a hat? Sorry, my picture is not a close up!
This one I finished into a simple little wallhanging for my sister's Birthday and mailed it off to her today! Hope she doesn't click on my blog for a couple days, and hope she likes it.
I used a sewing motif fabric for the border and the backing, and did a "flip & turn" knife edge instead of binding it.
For any of you who have embroidery machines, you might want to go take a look at Embroidery Libary's designs. They are reasonably priced and always stitch out so great!
Thanks for visiting.

DISAPPEARING PURSE/BAG

This new purse/bag has mysteriously disappeared to my sister's house!

When I showed it to her the other day, she told me it needed a BIG funky button on the tab closure. I told her...."well buy the button...and it's yours." You can't see it in the picture, but it has 2 side pockets just big enough for cell phone & sunglasses.

She bought this button (which she just pinned on for the pictures) and now the purse is gone......and all I have are these stupid pictures! Ah! the LOVE of sisters! (just in case you think this is over...it's not...she has to make me a new funky fabric patchwork blouse in exchange for this bag!)

TOO MANY PROJECTS!

I've been working all day on my projects, as I promised myself. Here's a few pictures of my progress.

Here's some of the scarves I have been making for the gals in my family who live in the cold/snow part of the country. The pale green one is for my youngest grand daughter, so it's narrower & will be faster to make.....yippee!! My 2 sisters grabbed up 2 of them, so have been delayed in getting these finished and mailed to family.

Another flannel raggy quilt ready to be clipped. Actually, I have made 2 of them...same size, same colors. Will soon be selling them in my Ebay store:

The picture on the right is another patchwork tote that's not quite finished, but it's getting done this weekend, for sure!

TA DA!!
