HURRAY! I finally got some sewing done!

I've been kinda puny for a few days and haven't felt very good, but finally got a chance to sew and worked on some simple sling style bags to put in my Etsy store. My favorite one is the turquoise zebra stripe with the embroidery on the front. Then there is a froggy one, pastel pink flower patchwork one, & Autumn leaves one. There's many more ideas swimming around in my head for these simple, yet practical bags for using as a purse or for shopping bags, so am sure you'll be seeing more of 'em as time goes on.

They look smaller than they are in the picture, as I was trying to get them all squished together for just one picture. They are 20" tall x 12" wide....nice medium size....fully lined.

CREATING A STORM CLOUD!

Didn't realize it had been so long since my last entry & pictures, so thought I'd show ya'll why.

It's been "STORMING" A LOT in my sewing room!

This wooden fence board sign was a gift from a dear quilting friend for Christmas several years ago. She made one for each of us in our Tied Together Bee. I have mine hanging from a decorative shelf my brother-in-law made for me when he remodeled my sewing room.

My cutting table is a full size door he permanently attached to the wall.....I love how LARGE it is...with shelving on one end. I can create lots of "STORMS " before I have to clean it off.

Here's one of my new bag creations that helped form the "STORM" cloud! This one is COMPLETELY quilted double fabric in bright turquoise and has 3 roomy compartments in the inside & one outside pocket for cell phone & keys. So useful with just one handle. It's for sale in my Ebay store.

BOUGHT SOME NEW FABRICS!

I saw these fabrics a couple days ago, and just had to buy them with plans of making purses/bags out of them. What do ya'll think?? With Summer upon us, I was thinking flowers and bright colors! Now just have to get back to the sewing room and make them.

LAVENDER ROSES THIS TIME!

MODA LAVENDER ROSES FABRIC!

My sister, Jerre, my niece and I all went to a couple more of the quilt shops on the Bluebonnet Patchwork Trail Shop Hop yesterday and I found the perfect button for this lavender rose bag. We had a real good time, and saw lots of beautiful quilts, great fabrics, wonderful inspiration for new projects. Bought a few fat quarters, a new Moda charm pack, and another pattern book for bags/purses/totes........stay tuned to see more.

I am really enjoying making all of these purses/totes and here is one from Moda fabrics called Sanctuary by 3 Sisters (sooooo appropriate, since I am always talking about us 3 sisters.) It will be for sale in my store on ebay too! Great detailing on this one; notice the side pocket for your sunglasses, and front pocket for your keys or cell phone.

DISAPPEARING PURSE/BAG

This new purse/bag has mysteriously disappeared to my sister's house!

When I showed it to her the other day, she told me it needed a BIG funky button on the tab closure. I told her...."well buy the button...and it's yours." You can't see it in the picture, but it has 2 side pockets just big enough for cell phone & sunglasses.

She bought this button (which she just pinned on for the pictures) and now the purse is gone......and all I have are these stupid pictures! Ah! the LOVE of sisters! (just in case you think this is over...it's not...she has to make me a new funky fabric patchwork blouse in exchange for this bag!)
