Winning through Exercise!

As most of you know if you follow me on Facebook,  or Twitter  I have been a member of Silver Sneakers exercise program for several years now.  Silver Sneakers is an exercise program for seniors over 55 through our AARP Advantage Insurance and is FREE!     My sister and I go 3 times a week to a Spectrum club that's about 30 minutes away from us,  and use the machines, free weights and swimming pool.  It has become a regular part of our lives and we are much healthier and stronger because of it.

Our Silver Sneakers advisor at our Spectrum club is awesome.  She is 84 years old and lifts weights, does pilates, yoga and is very inspiring to all of us seniors.

Besides offering special Silver Sneakers classes several times a week, our senior advisor organizes pot luck luncheons, line dancing, open house events and special events with speakers.

At one of the pot luck luncheons a while back, they asked for testimonials on how the Silver Sneakers program had changed our lives.  I submitted mine, telling about my quitting smoking and losing weight as a direct result of the Silver Sneakers programs.

Look what I won!   Ain't this just peachy?

I needed a new sports bag to hold everything I use when I go swimming at the club.   Living in San Antonio, I carry a water bottle everywhere.....kinda like that old American Express ad......"don't leave home without it".

Thanks for visiting.

THURSDAY'S PLANS

Got to get back on track & go to the gym this a.m. 'cause it's Thursday. Normal workout schedule was Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday, but since missing 9 weeks due to being sick, it's difficult to get back in the groove of going there. Always feel better when exercising, so that's the carrot I'm danlging in front of my sleepy face this morning.

Just thinking of all the sewing/quilting projects I can do when I get back to the energy I get from workouts! Yay!

Got to pull out a special project for my oldest son, Scott, that I have started and get busy on it for his birthday. Can't talk about it yet, as he checks my blog once in a while.........so ......Shhhhhhhhhhh!
