My front deck has needed a complete makeover for over a year now.  I've painted it two times myself......but it needed more than just "cover-up make up".  If you don't believe me....just look at these pictures.  I live in a large mobile home and even tho my front deck is covered with a nice roof, the HOT Texas days, and the rainy days we had before our drought played havoc with all the wood.

I went to the GSAQG (Greater San Antonio Quilt Guild) 2011 quilt show yesterday and my eyes almost popped out as I was viewing over 280 quilts on display.  It was a wonderful show and the talent was impressive.  This year's theme was  Call to Color celebrating out Red White Blue.   This one included pictures of all of our Presidents......impressive indeed!  I should have taken a close up too...

I received a BIG surprise in the mail from my oldest son who lives in CA.  It was packed full of beautiful home decor fabric samples. Some of the pieces are quite large. Happy 4th of July to everyone! We won't be seeing any big fireworks here in San Antonio this year, because of our drought and  fire danger.  Officials have banned fireworks displays here;  so sad for our celebrations.  I've always looked forward to our 4th of July celebrations ending in a huge fireworks show.   Not to be for us this year.  Guess I'll watch the Boston Pops Show on TV.

Warning!  Never go to a quilt show when you're on a "fabric diet!"   It's worse than going to Baskin Robbins when you are trying to lose some weight. Sometimes we just need to sew, sew, sew......and make something simple and easy.  That's what I did with a pack of  "It's a Hoot" Charm Squares from Moda. The squares in the rows are off-set every other row. Yes, I used my GO cutter to cut all the white 2 1/2" strips. Sewing junkie!  Yeah! that's what I am!    I just can't seem to get enough of it.  Guess that's why my embroidery machine is always clicking away while my Janome 6500 and I are having another bonding session.    Believe me, if there was some way I could run my embroidery machine and both of my Janome sewing machines and use my GO cutter to cut the next project, all at the same time,  I would.

The only way to keep Mr. GO happy is  by cutting more fabrics.  Which in turn means I get to GO buy more fabrics.  Nothing's better than that! These turquoise/teal ones are GOing to be in my ETSY store  as Time Saver Kits as soon as Mr. GO cuts them. Have you been wondering about the different fabric cutters?? I love to plan my quilting projects ahead of time. Love to quilt, but hate to stich the binding by hand?  Maybe this Easy Peasy Machine Binding Tutorial will help.   I hope so.  This is not my original idea, and I can't remember where I saw it, but I've been using this method ever since and thought I'd share it here.   This way,  makes it look like one continuous piece of binding.   The stitching by hand to the back of the quilt is best for your
